Jeolojik köken

A naturally occurring, quartz-rich metamorphic stone. Borgona is commercially classified as quartzite and is distinguished by its strong burgundy, red and earthy mineral tones. The precise geological formation and quarry provenance are not publicly documented, so these should be verified with the supplying quarry before making more specific geological claims.

Taşın oluşumu

Quartzite typically begins as quartz-rich sandstone. Over geological time, intense heat and pressure cause the original quartz grains and silica cement to recrystallise and interlock, producing an exceptionally dense and durable stone. Mineral impurities introduced during formation give Borgona its characteristic red and burgundy colouring and expressive natural patterning.

Kullanım ve bakım

Well suited to kitchen worktops, bathroom surfaces, flooring, wall cladding, tables and statement architectural features thanks to its high resistance to wear and abrasion. For everyday care, clean with warm water and a pH-neutral natural-stone cleaner. Although true quartzite is generally resistant to scratching and acids compared with marble, sealing is recommended where appropriate to reduce staining, particularly on kitchen surfaces. Avoid abrasive cleaners and prolonged exposure to strongly acidic or alkaline chemicals.
